If the title of your department or division changes, obviously it’s important for the name of the associated site to change as well. In your dashboard, go to “settings” and then “general”. The site title is the first option. The title should appear on a single line; about 55 characters (including spaces) seems to be the maximum. Make your change in the site title box and click “save changes” at the bottom of the page. Then look at your site to make sure the title fits well and everything is spelled correctly.
The name of the site should just be the subject area, leaving out “department”, “office” or “program”. For example, “Chemistry” not “Chemistry Department”, and “Career Services” not “Office of Career Services”. The exception is a site for an individual officer of the College, such as the provost or president, in which case “office” is used.
